What's on your Thanksgiving menu?

I love thanksgiving! This is my first year doing it alone , yes a whole turkey intimidates me! I have some family coming so I would love it to be nice! What's on your Thanksgiving menu. I guess I should also say that I am a simplifier! I do most things in the simplest degree. I would love any tips, comments and/or menu ideas! Thanks!

Turkey, mashed potatoes, devilled eggs, relish tray (carrots, pickles, olives, etc), ROLLS (I have the BEST roll recipe!), pumpkin pie, apple pie
You're so lucky that you have family coming! I wish I did! We're just doing it all alone... but I already have my turkey!

We're going to Jer's family & I can't wait for cranberries and stuffing!

DO the turkey in a bag. It's easy and simple- your two requirements.

stuffing from a box is my favorite and really easy

We have the norm. I highly recommend that you not feel bad about buying the pre-made stuff - $5 pies at the store are just as yummy as homemade ones, and a LOT less stress!

Hope you don't mind I checked out your blog....it's so cute! My favorite easy thing is the pre-made Pillsbury pie crusts. I like easy and simple too. I'm sure your dinner will be yummy!

My husband does alot of the cooking! We have this huge turkey pan that we cook the bird in for hours and it comes out so yummy and moist.
We make alot of food for alot of left overs!
Homemade stuffing is my fav.

Hi Brook! Its you cuz, Amy. Your blog is darling as are your sweet children. That video of Porter is too cute!! It made me laugh and got me excited for Cannon to start laughing. As for Thanksgiving, I say the pies from Costco are the way to go!

Turkey (we buy a turkey roll, not a whole turkey. easier to cook and doesn't take up the whole oven), roasted parsnips and carrots, potatoes, copious amounts of gravy, homemade cranberry sauce, apricot stuffing, key lime pie, berry triffle, cranberry cake... and I think that is it, but there are probably a couple of other things.

OH yeah, I was going to mention cooking the turkey in an oven bag, but it looks like Heather already did. I second the motion. Not only is it easy and simple, but it cooks the turkey faster, makes it juicier, and you don't have to do all the basting while you're cooking it. Yum! I can't wait for turkey!

Who do you have coming! My parents and becca and Austin are coming too and Maliyah is just extatic! I also do simple on Thanksgiving. Truly the basics. Turkey, potatoes, rolls and stuffing. Because we are having guests though I let them each chose a favorite as well. The missionaries chose Green Bean casserol and my mom chose Yams, although she will be cooking them. And we are keeping pies to a minimum. You remember wood family Thanksgivings with like every pie imaginable!? At first when we got married it was hard to imagine a Thanksgiviung without 15 pies, but we have now made it down to two kinds, 3 with company. I also do my turkey frozen. It's easier, I looked up the instructions on line...it just takes up your oven time.
